HEALING SCENE
Healing for Rhust

When the dark, paint bachelor had run off far enough, Rhust slowed his chase. His heart was hammering in his chest, feeling is if it would explode, but he ignored it. He looped back towards the forest in a speedy trot, the gravity of heading down hill helping him. He otherwise wasn't sure if he could keep up this pace. Ahead he saw how Mysha had joined back with Daray, leading the black mare back toward to tree line, but shooting Rhust worried glances.

Rhust growled in anger and gave her a furious look. Don't wait, dammit! Just go! He wanted to yell at her, but his lungs stung, and he held his teeth clamped shut. As he got closer to the two mares, he could hear Mysha starting to spill worried words, but he didn't hear them. They were numb to his ears. Without thinking he starkly lowered his head, ears flat, not slowing his pace. He snaked the mares away in a mad rush, into the thicket of the forest.

The 3 headed in deeper and deeper, without speaking a word. However, it wasn't before long when Rhust slowed to a walk, trying to keep a steady pace, but failing. He bobbed his head as they slowly strode along, obviously tired. The burned up adrenaline rush had left him exhausted, and the silence among them made his pained grunts and ragged breath only more obvious.

After what seemed like a half day of walking, Mysha put her hoof down. She turned to look behind her, eyes holding a mix of anger and worry. Rhust nearly bumped into her, and when he noticed, his worn out expression immediately flared into rage as he caught her eyes. "Keep moving!" He spat at her, budding his head low once more in an attempt to drive her, eyes lot leaving hers. As Mysha fully turned to face the young stallion, Daray upfront ducked in on herself as the sight, and quickly moved on. Mysha did not. She continued to defiantly stare the stallion down. "You need rest." She stated in an unusual calm tone.

"Move, Mysha!" Rhust nearly yelled out, angrily pacing along the mare. He wanted her to move, but avoided touching her to do so. Her eyes grew darker. "Calm down..." Mysha spoke, unflinching, "You need rest. Look at yourself." Her voice grew softer with each word, her brown frowned in worry. The splash stallion stopped his movement just to watch her with mad eyes, trying his best to still his breath. "We don't have time to rest. We aren't far enough." He gritted through his teeth. The stallion's anger flared as Mysha rolled her eyes. "We ARE far enough. They'd be crazy to follow us this far, Rhust!" She exclaimed with a huff.

Rhust opened his mouth to roar back at her, but she cut him off. "And you need to calm down. You're scaring us...You're scaring me." She confessed softly, although her eyes did not show it. They seemed more fiery red then usual. Rhust stared at her in silence. His eyes darted to Daray up ahead, who quickly flinched and looked away. The young stallion slowly closed his mouth, swallowing loudly, before looking away himself. Shame overtaking his features. I did it again...

His eyes shot open in shock as he felt Mysha softly press her head against his neck, letting out a deep sigh. "Please don't be mad." She spoke, "We were all scared, but you got us back... We're save now." The Overo mare rubbed her forehead against him, her eyes falling on the open wound on his chest. Without another word she started to quietly lap at it, in an attempt to clean it. Rhust did not move, he didn't dare to.

But as the sun came out from behind the clouds, joyfully bathing the small clearing they were in, in summer warmth, the stallion relaxed eventually. His exhaustion taking over once more, he could no longer keep himself tense, and gave in to the care Mysha was giving him. Soon they'd both settled in a steady rhythm of grooming. Mysha was thoroughly working on the grime and dust covering the young stallion, and took great care in carefully cleaning his wounds. Rhust naturally returned the favor, lazily scratching her withers.

Daray had quietly settled herself, not wanting to disturb the two. She allowed herself a faint smile as she noticed Rhust slowly started to doze off on Mysha's shoulder. The peace had returned once more.

Words:

The quiet after the storm. Rhust is still filled with pent up rage, which mostly came from fear of loosing his mares, and him failing at fighting off their attackers. He took it out on Mysha, but she's not having any of that shit!
Rhust is too exhausted to notice they had been walking for a couple hours. For him it still felt like they were super close to the plains D: Noes! (Mysha is a good mum, she knows this)
After all this, however, Rhust will have 3 new scars. One on his jaw, one on his hock, and one on his chest that looks like this >> cdn.c.photoshelter.com/img-get…

Also, Rhust x Mysha, first intimate moment! o3o #GiveRhustLove!!! Although, Rhust is too tired to notice, lol.

*GASP* you've watched the documentary's on Cloud! That horse was my life as a kid and I still follow Ginger Kathrens and Clouds offspring. You may never see this comment because this was drawn a while ago, but it is super good and accurate. Good Job!
